being dory

lately, a dear friend reminded me of dory. the fish who had memory loss problem in some cartoon movie. she only able to keep her memory for short time, like 15 minutes, a day at most. when she saw a rock, she said "look a rock!" and then she passed that rock again then she said "look a rock!" my friend, apparently, he had difficulty to remember things like little details.

is life as a dory easier or worse? do you fancy being a dory? do you want a clean slate everyday, get excited everyday, but you can't keep your memory about what happened like a month ago. or do you fancy being who we truly are, keeping all the memories, good and bad. and if i'm not mistaken, those bad memories stayed forever.

maybe, if it's possible, you'll answer. being a dory with photo album. then you just took picture of superb holidays, best birthday, but not some funeral. or more advance, you chose the memories you want to keep. but then again, if you only have good memories, will it be really excruciating when you experience bad one? but ngeh, you can delete it anyway, go to sleep and forget about it tomorrow.

so tell me, dory. is it fun being you? sleep tight, dory. don't forget everything in the morning.

aw.
